Dear President Barack Hussein Obama (Debrief and Review of an Unsatisfactory Job)

January 19th, 2017

Dear President Barack Hussein Obama,

In 2004, as a student, studying political science at the University of California in Santa Barbara, I still remember watching portions of your debate with Alan Keyes and being impressed by your articulate responses and nuanced understanding of the issues.  You always were an effective orator capable of speaking to the lofty ideals of liberalism and the sharpness of your mind made for a compelling case for their fulfillment.  The populace and perhaps your own counsel, should have recognized your inexperience as an executive, naivety on issues of international relations and the unsustainability of your proposals, but the inability of Hillary Clinton to campaign in congruence to the stature of her name recognition, provided an opening for a dark horse candidate outside of the National Security Status quo.  Google and the internet, along with successful efforts to court the favor of the press core, who shared your idealism, vaulted you ahead of Hillary Clinton and put you head to head with a firebrand Republican candidate in Senator John McCain, who looked tired and geriatric in juxtaposition to you in your head to head debates.   Your youth and orator skill, combined with the narrative of your rise propelled you to the highest office of power and in assuming office, unachievable expectations for your Presidency were set that would eventually be your downfall.  Your single biggest failure, from the start of your Presidency, was rooted in your experiences in Indonesia, where a milder Islam more compatible with Democracy and modernity skewed your conceptions of Islam where in combination with your radical left travels of youth and your academic career instilled animosity towards both the Status Quo America lead order and the ambition to pursue an integral world vision accommodating of both political Islam and Socialism.  The Economic turmoil of the Mortgage crisis facilitated a narrative spun away from one that more accurately would have been addressed with more vigorous fraud enforcement, into one where Capitalism itself was declared dead and the myth of Socialism’s answers exalted.  Radical Keynesian policies of fiscal stimulus fit the desires of socialists to increase the role of government in the everyday economy, while affording the doling of political payoffs to the Unions and poor who supported you.  Nearly everyone, myself included, wanted to see your success as President, in creating a more equitable, just and peaceful world.

Economics was never your strong suit, and I feel you were hard sold on bailouts that beared limited effectiveness in softening the pain of market driven economic forces, and were ultimately overshadowed by the massive cost to tax payers, the lack of justice for the responsible, the deficit of accountability for the administration, the resulting systemic corruption and long term drag the increased debts placed on future economic growth.  While the US auto industry was placed on life support by the intervention, the mortgage business was maimed as under-regulation was replaced by over-regulation that prevented recovery and encouraged the consolidation of wealth into the hands of fewer and fewer people.   A lack of party discipline allowed big banks to pass state regulation that undermined the implementation of the Housing Affordability Modification Program causing millions of Americans to see their dreams transform into nightmares.

While I supported your efforts to bring National Security Laws in line with higher standards of Human rights and civil liberties, the consequence was only a broadened global Islamist terrorist threat and a larger number of successful attacks on Western Civilization as enemy combatants previously detained, whether in Guantanamo or in Camp Bucca returned to the battlefield to inspire acts of terrorism.  An important deterrent to joining terrorist groups was lost and ranks of our Islamist enemies Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the Islamic State continued to grow, mobilizing active brigades in the chaos that ensued from the your State Department’s execution of the Brezhnev Doctrine 2.0 where any young Islamist voicing opposition to autocracy, fascism or totalitarianism and expressing a desire for democracy and the hand fed list of Liberal Universal ideals was provided weapons and logistical support to raise hell and overthrow the Security Order well-fostered by the Bush Administration as an ally against the forms of Political Islam conducive to the terrorism of Al-Qaeda and their ilk.  Well coached PR fronts became conduits for funding and arms that have resulted in protracted civil wars within which hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people have now died and millions upon millions have been displaced. This global catastrophe, began with your foolish political calculation to pull US forces out of Iraq pre-maturely, a decision that I hope you recognize was a grave mistake that generations of people will bear the cost of repairing, that not only I and the Republicans, but also most Democratic Intelligence experts opposed.

In making our decision to intervene in Libya, the terrorist attacks on our Ambassadors would have been a political gift to galvanize support for the necessary force to intervene and stabilize the youngest and potentially most wealthy Free Republic in North Africa.  Instead, what transpired was a slight of hand deception to protect your presumed successor and her underlying ideology where the Kremlin method of ignore and obfuscate became a political strategy of dealing with the damage of Benghazi, where any hope of the meaningful national dialogue to rally support for substantive policy was lost and the youngest and most prosperous democracy in North Africa quickly descended into not only Civil War and Chaos, but also became a safe haven for the worst terrorist actors to fund and arm their expansive operations in support of the Caliphate.

As a Political Science student at UCSB, I still remember when Professor Woolley, in our coursework on the American Presidency explained that most Presidents are judged by the performance of the economy, a matter of which they have little control compared to the legislative houses when the execution of their foreign policy is where they should be judged since it is an arena where they have sweeping authority and power as Commander and Chief.   By this logic, the economic downturn at the end of the Bush Administration may very well be the fault of the Democratic controlled legislative houses and the trifecta of foreign policy blunders that included the return of the Caliphate (a direct consequence of US withdrawal from Iraq and direct support for Political Islam during the Arab Spring), resurgent Russian aggression (a direct response to NATO and EU expansion that ignored the warnings of international realists) and the hostility of a Rising China in the South China Sea (that has been facilitated by a reduced Naval presence and weak political leadership by the president) accentuate the failure to quell Islamist rebellions across North Africa and into as deep as the Central African Republic, the transnational narco-Insurgency plaguing our major cities, border towns and Central American neighbor-states and endemic incompetence and corruption of post-colonial sub-Saharan Africa.

Barack Obama’s foreign policy strategies have been an abject failure, that has been patched over by the propaganda of climate change accords that harm America’s geopolitical strength and energy independence while continuing to strengthen the financial advantage of ideological rivals of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia and Communist China.    Whether its foreign nations like Mynamar or Sedan, Yemen or Ukraine, or foreign capitals like Havana or Caracas, Gaza or Tehran, the long-stated problems were only made worse by the proposed solutions of the Obama Administration, which usually involved efforts at apology, reconciliation and integration that confused the correctness of the American way and the righteousness of her victories with imperialism and neo-colonialism.   Press conferences, summits, treaties, and accords made for great propaganda photo ops and New York Times columns but did little to alleviate the suffering of the people trapped within the political backwardness of socialism, Islamism, or other archaic totalitarian ideologies.  It became politically incorrect to make resolute defenses of American values, Traditions and Ethical fortitudes with the metaphor of a Jeffersonian Model of a City on the Hill being replaced with an open plunder of our wealth and civility by barbaric marauders.

Today, after 8 years of Obama’s Administration, our jails and prisons are filled beyond capacity, our Court and Justice system backlogged and overwhelmed, our roads and infrastructure dilapidated, homeless camps expanding, our posterity laden in debts, our public Universities Marxist strongholds hostile to real science and serious scholarship, while the last men who walked on the moon are dead or dying and both race relations and wealth disparities regressed to historic levels of imperil.  The greatest nation the world has ever known, the last bastion of freedom and liberty, had been defeated by a Trojan horse, that pushed us closer and closer to the slow growth stagflation of the European welfare-states.  As home and auto ownership declined, the American dream was diminished.  The righteous rebellion of the tea party against the overreach of centralized government was maligned with every trick in Alinsky’s playbook.   It was obvious, that without substantiate results from policy and Administration, the Democratic party was turning to the destructive forces of Identity politics in an effort to cling to power.

With the routine terrorism of the Islamic State landing on the shores of Europe, over a million Muslims were resettled within the territories of Protestant America.  As black militants engaged in terrorist acts against officers of the law domestically, the President dined with the leaders of Black Lives Matter in the white house.  While the Caliphate absorbed territories larger than England and France combined, you hid in the comforts of Martha’s Vineyard without offering any solace to a terrified people.  When terror struck the homeland, you defended Islam and extoled the new values of the left, to the neglect of our own country and people.  While eventually, you were thrust into action, your measures to clean up the mess you made were weak and as you leave office, ISIL is only now being driven from Mosul, with their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi still believed to be at large as an expanding Iranian Power is moving in to arm their proxies of terror as nuclear reactors continue to turn.

Your successor, Donald Trump, stepped in to bridge the gap between the Tea Party and the establishment and trounced any and all opposition with a commitment to his mission to Make America Great Again. In truth, America and its fine breed of people, have been averaged into the mean, but tomorrow the Restoration of the Republic and American Greatness begins.  I have no doubt, that under the leadership of Donald Trump, the USA will again regain its position as an unrivaled super-power, with a massive industrial base and unmatched military.  It will also, again be the land of opportunity, where hard work and ingenuity is rewarded, and adherence to common sense and the protestant ethic allow the honest American to get ahead, enjoy the fruits of their labor and realize the American Dream.

President Obama, on January 20th, 2017 at noon tomorrow, you will be relieved of your duties.  While you may have had the best of intentions, and may be a good man and role model for advocates of liberal values, you were a very mediocre President.  I recognize the complexities of the time, and appreciate that you did guide us through a challenging time.   I’m grateful to be alive and live in these historic times, but I cannot with veracity suggest that you have helped to improve the state of our nation or its people.  In fact, I must contend, your policies have directly contributed to the decline of our position in the world and the prospects for prosperity for our posterity.  However, much like the transition of Jimmy Carter to Ronald Reagan, the peaceful transition of power from Barack Obama to Donald Trump will bring a national revitalization, in spirit and purpose, that will coincide with impressive industrial expansion and widely spread prosperity, where justice again prevails and the peace is won by adherence to traditional American Virtues.

Sinerely,

Theo
