Open Letter to the Anglican Community World Wide
To the Anglican Community World Wide,
The Anglican Community has long been a dominant force for peace, prosperity and social justice and today, more than ever, the Anglican Church has a role to serve as a global leader. It is not in an effort to deny the injustices and wrongs of British colonialism but a practical realism to get over white guilt and recognize the merit of democracy, liberal market economics and christian virtue. As Anglicans we are unique and superior to all other religions because we go beyond the tenant of tradition observed by Catholics and the tenant of scripture accepted by protestants, but include both as tenants of our faith and add a most important third tenant for our faith, reason. The enlightenment influenced our belief in humanity and allowed us to recognize that man and women were both endowed by reason and incorporated the scientific process developed by the greeks to observe both the natural world and to study society for the sake of its improvement. These three tenants of our faith make us remarkably more adept to leadership in the modern world our tempered democratic capitalism moderated by the golden rule and sense of Christian community and openness to individuals of all faiths provide the merits of global leadership.
The Global Anglican Community has a responsibility and obligation to step up and fill the gaps of secular democracy, godless communism and lawless capitalism to create a world where success is rewarded but all are provided for. The former and current crown holdings, where Anglicanism and the Episcopalian Church are prominent provide tremendous opportunities for financial growth and coordination with the banking systems and intelligence communities can expand and open new markets, elevating the living standards of all those within our Church and community. Propertyless communism and lawless capitalism are need to be balanced by the spiritual leadership of Anglicanism and combined into a world order with equitable rules of free trade and fair competition where all are cared for and our cultural heritages within and outside of Anglicanism are preserved.
We look to the leadership of Archbishop Justin Welby to help coordinate the resources and communities of our bishops, congregations and parishes globally to increase our trade networks and improve the management of our financial resources so that Episcopalians can own more businesses, create more scholarship funds, endow more research and art funds and provide the service of employment to the millions of younger Episcopalians our church needs for its continued existence. Prince William can take a leadership role in helping direct private capital in a way that responsibly and sustainably grows our resources, while showing regard for the Environment and populace working for our companies and purchasing our products and services. The episcopalian and anglican church has a vital role in augmenting and bolstering the missions of popularly elected officials such as President Barack Obama and the popularly elected governing officials world wide.
The past 73 years have shown how tight knit and well organized Jewish communities can capitalize on shared values and global networks of enclaves to prosper on the merit of their handwork, community values and higher education. The Anglican communities have an opportunity to do the same thing, but more needs to be done within the Church to make our businesses known, with the creation of career positions a focal point for our congregation. Trade within and throughout our various communities is the next layer of our faith's corporate evolution with increased efforts to conduct business within and between our congregations to improve and preserve the wealth of families within our faith. We must avoid our judgements of old and open our doors to minority communities and offer confidence in the ability of market dynamics, common law and democracy to improve the well being and prosperity of all faithful Anglicans around the globe while increasing collaboration on interfaith projects towards social justice.
We need to encourage and sponsor more travel between our various congregations globally and coordinate projects both in business and charity to improve self-sufficiency while recognizing we all need the help of our communities, parishes and congregations at times and can count and rely on each other in times of need.
It was the Free and Anglican world which emerged victorious in World War I and World War II, it was the merit of the tenants of our faith, principled values and roles within Secular institutions that has brought the American and Anglican communities to unprecedented positions of success and while the last few years have had their challenges, we are roaring back to unprecedented heights and with the acumen of archbishop Justin Welby and the active participation of our congregations, the leadership of our Bishops, elected governing bodies, execution by our ministers and participation of the laity we can rise together to preserve and expand the reach of democracy, the justice of common law notions and liberal markets to reduce government dependency, increase government contribution and guide the world away from communism towards authentic democratic capitalism with guaranteed provision of education, medicine, housing, clothing and fairly compensated work as a means of providing justice for all.
